Let’s Go For A Float

Since we weren’t going whitewater rafting, we only needed water shoes (Look at those babies, a fashion statement). And we also needed a protective life jacket in case someone hit us with a paddle and we fell overboard.

We all had paddles but as you can see Mason, our guide, was the only one doing the work. It was calm out there but really nice.

We paddled about 6 miles down the Middle Flathead River. It was a nice warm day and the water had a good chill to it so why not jump in?

Only two of us took the plunge. The water temp reminded me of Jersey ocean temps when I was a kid. Once your in, you get used to it.

Ah yes, all was good until I had to get back into the raft. Do you see how high the sides are? Oh how I wish I had a photo of my graceful reentry. Anyhow, Mason came over, grabbed me by the top 2 straps of my life preserver and said, “This may get a little awkward.”
Mason was right. When he hoisted me up and plopped me into the bottom of the raft like a flopping halibut, I looked up, Mason was on his back and my nose was between his legs. “Yes, this is a little awkward.”

It was a fun day on the river.

Time to load up the rafts, get on the bus and head back to the park entrance. Maybe get some ice cream.

Lucca Has To Leave Her Friend

Back at our campground, we said our goodbyes. Lucca had become reacquainted with her boyfriend, Zeus, who she met on our out west trip. They both play loud and proud. We had to say goodbye to Sheila, Zeus’s mom and to all our friends on the caravan. Thanks to Susie for organizing this spectacular time together.
I know I mentioned in the last blog that I would give you 2 pieces of advice when you plan a trip to Glacier National Park. Here’s the second. If at all possible, plan your trip during an off peak time. July and August are busy. The park still beautiful but it’s more like going to Disney Than going to the wild frontier.
Off To Canada

Goodbye campground.

Goodbye Hungry Horse
Goodbye Flathead River

Hello Canada US Border

It looks like lots of vehicles but it didn’t take long for us to get through the border. They were very nice and wished us a great trip.
Our view when we crossed the border was worth it.

Our first campsite was in Radium Springs, British Columbia. What a great site, nice and big.

There was a beautiful babbling stream behind our camper. I loved it.

We took a hike around the campground and Lucca got to go. Oh, and she took Pam.

Tomorrow we are off to Banff. I have heard many good things about Banff and it has been on my bucket list. When you see the photos, I having a feeling it will be on yours too. Come along and see for yourself.
Enjoying catching up on your adventures! Wonderful pictures, scenery, wildlife, and tales. Looks like you three are having a good time. Lucca seems to be enjoying the trip a bit more now.
Your travels are always a great adventure – and it’s fun to travel along with your blog. I’m headed to South Dakota in a few weeks and Wall Drugs has been added to the must see list now!
Okay but be ready for a tourist explosion when you get to Wall Drug. Enjoy the donuts. Be sure to go to Crazy Horse.
Lolololololololol. Laughed so hard !
OMG so embarrassing. Oh well, I got back in the boat so I was happy about that.
What an adventure! Keep having fun!
Our time in Canada is almost over. I think we have 4 more nights. It was an incredible experience. You would be a hiking fool. The National Parks are so huge and amazing. It’s forest, lakes, rivers and mountains for as far as you can drive in a day. Absolutely wonderful how they care for the land and animals. See ya round the bend.
I love the “get in the raft” story. So love reading your adventures!!
I knew that story would put a smile on some faces. Thanks for keeping up with the blog. Hope you and Terry are both doing well. We’re having a fun time. Would love to stay in Canada.
Can’t wait to see Banff! I’d love to go there, too! 🏞️💜⛰️
We absolutely love Canada. Things are done in such a smart way here. People are very friendly, the weather is beautiful, the wild animals are cared for, the environment is a priority. I could go on and on. We are enjoying the National Parks here. Gonna catch up with the blog today.
